I’m inspired by the peaceful life cycle we witness in plants and the beauty of each stage from bloom to dust.

The detailed work and time-intensive nature of each piece are a salve during difficult times and grew out of the isolating early months of the pandemic in 2020. As a remedy to the heaviness of that time, the beauty, spirit, optimism, and resilience of nature and plants sprinkled in the garden beds around my neighborhood gave me courage.

The flowers and plants in each piece are selected to harmonize with each other with the hopes of reflecting that out of the frame.

I cut each stem and bloom by hand with an X-ACTO Knife & sweet but sharp mustache scissors. The journey ends with a paint brush and hearty glue on a sturdy illustration board. Pieces currently range in size from 8x10” to 16x20”.
